Office 2016 For Mac El Capitan

Whats the concensus on this now? Office 2016 working well on El Capitan 10.11.1? I was thinking to upgrade from Office 2011 - but have alot of projects on the go and don't want to lose time messing about with restores etc. OFFICE 2016 and El Capitan are totally unusable together. 2011 OFFICE is fine. I just deleted 2016 OFFICE and reinstalled 2011. I was plagued with constant crashes on opening files in the entire suite of programs, saving files and printing files but 2011 OFFICE works just fine. It is kinda annoying but not the end of the world. The newest version of Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac will have some users pulling their hair out, however, as those who have upgraded to El Capitan have reported frequent crashes, according to PCWorld.
